Wireguard on a Raspberry Pi Zero
[Since switched to using Tailscale and looking for a project for the Raspberry Pi Zero 2W]
[Since upgraded to a Pi Zero 2W]
Inspired by discussions on Linux Unplugged, I've put Wireguard on an early Pi Zero that had been lying in a drawer for several years. I used the instructions on the PiMyLifeUp website. I particularly liked the trick of setting up access from my phone using a QR Code.
It's working fine for occasional remote access on 4g. Speed may not be great but I can browse Samba shares and access local machines with SSH. So far two weeks without any intervention.
Whilst Chris and Wes appeared to conclude that Wireguard on a Raspberry Pi 4 would not satisfy their use case at Jupiter Broadcasting, I think the performance is remarkable, particularly on a low cost device such as the Pi Zero.
